                        White House Down

As we see in the poster we can get a clear idea that this is an action movie starring Channing Tatum and Jamie Foxx.

Basically the story s' about a policeman (Tatum) that has a job interview at the White House as a personal security of the President of the United States (Foxx). Tatum stars as John Cale and for his interview he takes his daughter Emily with him since she is obsessed with politics. Cale fails his job interview in result of a very unpleasant past but however he tells his daughter that the people with more power had to discuss it. Afterwards Cale goes on a tour of the White House with his daughter and then he springs into action to protect the President and his daughter s' lives from a heavily armed group of terrorist who plan to put down the White House.

In one of the begging scenes we see  a long shot of three helicopter from the view, set of day and musical it gives us and idea that there s' something important is going to happen and then after wards we see a group of snipers of top a building. This gives us thee conclusion that there is someone important on one of those helicopters and that it s' an action movie.

Our believes are confirmed right after-wards when the President comes out from one of the helicopters and is then escorted into the white house.

From there we have our very first glimpse of John Cale who is got the news that he has an interview for a job as a security with the President of the United States but he wanted to get a pass at the White house for his daughter Emily since she is obsessed with politics. These scenes where very  straight forward and they give a good idea of the viewer what going to happen next. Now from a very relaxing scene suddenly the music turns into one of a suspense and we see a man viewed from the bottom, this gives us and idea that that he is going to do something wrong.

We see a close up of the man s' hand whom have some number s' written to it. This tells us that the number are of an importance and that he wanted to keep them hidden. The number where of a room which the man entered or maybe was ordered to enter. After the man entered the room he turns on a flash-light, an indication that the man does not want to be seen and then steals a cleaning trolley. Our first ideas are that he is going to use the trolley as a disguise.

Cale then visits his daughter to try to make it up to her because he forgot about the school concert she had by taking her with him to the White House.

While on the drive we see Emily with her head phones on this means that maybe she isn't in the mood for the tour, but that s' not the case since we know that Emily is obsessed with these kind of things or she did not want to her her father. So in this particular scene the simplest thing like head phones indicates that there is something wrong in the relation ship between the daughter and the father. When they arrive and Cale goes in for the interview he finds himself face to face with and old friend, Carol Finnerty. The close up in this scene tells us that they are discussing something important. Before leaving Emily asks her father if they could go on a tour in the White House which almost was going to cost their lives.

Later on when the White House was taken under siege and Emily was taken as one of the hostages. Then we see a sudden turning event when the Head of Security Martin takes the President to a safe bunker under the White House and then he betrays him and  kills all the other guards. So this effect happened because Martin was at the peak of retiring after 20 years protecting president and then when he is mostly trusted he betrays the current President. Luckily our hero comes and saves the president but it s' not over yet since his daughter is still held in captivity. Martin s' reason of betrayal was soon uncovered.

For now Cale still believes that his daughter managed to get out but when he tries to make a run for it with the President and he hears on the car radio that one of the kidnappers is holding a hostage in the balcony he looks through the wind-shield and he sees his daughter. This shot it took in slow motion, the music s' faint and we could clearly hear the sound of Cale s' breath, this means that it is a very emotional moment for him and even maybe the director wants to go on the emotional side of the viewer.
Till now we still don t' know whole reason of what s' the whole kidnapping and taking down the white house about. More and more the film goes and Cale keeps in contact with Carol the more she realise that Cale has truly changed.

This is one of the ending scenes where we a a shot of Carol from the behind and the president is talking to Cale. This means that Cale was talking to Carol and the President jumped in the middle of the conversation. Before entering the plane the President told Cale that he is not going anywhere without his protection. Although  he did not say it directly he meant that he gave Cale the job and more than that his trust. In the end almost all the viewer s' questions were answered and there were some people who they were not who we thought we where.

I mostly enjoyed this movies not because we where shown a man s' bravery but a man s' s bravery for someone he truly loves and that for someone to trust you, you have to earn his trust.

Multi Award winner comedian Adam Sandler is back as Michael Newman, a husband and a father of two in this comedy.

So basically the movie's about this architect (Sandler) who gets in control of this universal remote control who could control his life, like skip days, months or even years. Newman uses this remote to fast forward the bad parts of his life to the god parts but the thing is that as a workaholic as he is Michael skips even the good parts of life because of financial problems to the time he gains access to his promotion and gets it all, but unfortunately he skips all of his children 's ( Ben and Samantha) childhood skipping also his separation with his wise and the death of his father. These complications are all the result of the the remote controling Michael 's choices because it set it 's self on auto-pilot.

Movement is occuring in this film when Michael transports himself from one time to another or when he pauses a person with the remote.

This is the first time that Michel accidentally uses the remote when he is having an argument with his wife and he wants to pause the television and when he hits pause not even the t.v pauses but even his wife. Here we see in at this moment Donna has no movement as id she 's jammed in that position and stars moving again when he hits play. It is now that Michael understood exactly what is the purpose of the remote.

Here we see a shot of when Michael entered the vast world of the remote to move himself to other periods of his life. Next to Michael there is Marty the angel of death and the inventor of the remote.

This is a scene when Michael goes ten years later to get to promotion he always wanted. The lightning and furniture are a proof that he moved himself into the future but no only there is a change in thee style but Michael had changed aswell.

Again we have a scene of the movement in Michael 's life but in the very future. This is the Newman company now and Michael 's got it all but there 's more than meets the eye because now that Michael 's on top of the hill he is quite disappointed on how the things worked out and what he had to sacrifice to gain this position.

This is a scene almost from the end of the movie. Michael all grown up, his hair colour has changed delivering a speech at his son 's wedding which at this point he does not even know his own son 's wife name as a result of all the time in his life that he skipped. Although in this picture Michael seems happy but in reality he is very sad that he missed a good amount of his life.

If you want to know what happens next, watch the movie and you won 't be disappointed how things turn out afterwards.

                                                      Part 2

Every film, no matter what genre it is and no matter how brilliant it is, it has to have a great poster to catch the eye. I am basing my research on automobile racing films so my main aim is to capture speed, road rush and movement within the poster.

When doing research on automobile films one cannot miss out and does not  research the blockbuster films that came out troughout the years an so I embarked on such research. Films of this kind these include
'The German Speed Legend Rose Meyer', 'Drive','Speed','Unstopabble','Vanishing Point','Kill Speed','Death Race','Gone in 60 Seconds','Red Line' and last but not least 'Fast and Furious'.

To create this poster I looked primarely to 'Fast and Furious' and I wanted to create a poster on that level but with a difference. I wanted to create a poster that gathers around it all the themes of this assignment, the building I chose is influenced by Art Deco for example. But instead of doing a modern and fast car like some of the posters of 'Fast and Furious' I chose the Rolls Royce, then again an Art Deco influenced automobile, one that we have never see in 'Fast and Furious'.

As I already said that I am going to focus more of my research on the fast and furious franchise I am going to research if it has any connection with other films in the past and on how these films influenced and are still influencing auto mobile films. This franchise began back in 2001 so before it there were many other auto mobile films but no other had made the same impact on the industry that fast and furious made. It's either a matter of the time period or of a budget but fast and furious brought the other auto mobile films to nothing. In my opinion it's a definite no that in fast and furious had to be filmed 20 years before it was it would not have made the same success.

Most parts of the film were filmed in Los Angeles but at that time it was a great idea to mix american cars with Japanese cars and thats why I said if it had to be shot 20 before it would not have made the success because the people at that time were still thinking old fashioned and were not ready for that idea.

Now we all now that America is not a poor country but throughout the years there was some time that there budget reduced but still managed to give the viewer a high quality result.

Nowadays that the franchise is at it's seventh film with it still being filmed when the audience hears that an auto mobile film is coming out soon there reaction is only one, it is not going to be as good as fast and furious and that is the impact that was left on the audience since the first film.

To bring out speed troughout the poster I used a Futuristic movement effect which is the multiplication of the car blurred and layared on top of the original Rolls Royce.

But why have I focused mostly on 'Fast and Furious' ? The answer is simple, apart from being my all time favourite movie, it made a very strong impact on this type of genre and from here I have the opportunity to grieve the loving memory of one of the main actors of 'Fast and Furious' and one of the pioneers in auto mobile movies Paul Walker who died in a car accident earlier this month.

When mentioning 'Fast and Furious' one cannot say that the main actors are only the cast themselves because one of the things that 'Fast and Furious' could not go on without are the cars, very fast cars. In automobile films we often come across saturated colours and blurred line complemented with the fast movie to create the sense of speed and adrenaline for the viewer. That is why there is going to be some different element in my poster.

The contrasting colours that I am going to use a all the blur are going to be done intentionally to create speed but them to contrast it all I used the Rolls Royce a car that for sure could not create the same effect as the cars used in 'Fast and Furious'.
